Nagaland is located in the north eastern part of India, and nagland is a hill state. The capital of Nagaland is Kohima. The total population of the state is around 2 million. The state is popular for the Naga Tribes   and basically they follow the Burmese language. These tribal communities has link with the tribes who belong to the Burma and Assam.
The climate of the state is also favorable as the state is fully covered by mountain. The hill is originated from Brahmputra Valley of Assam. The main features of the state are that it is very rich in fauna and flora. The forest area is also very well urbanized around 1/6th of Nagaland is enclosed
by forest, and this the reason behind the monsoon climate which is favorable to everyone.

The Christianity is the principal Religion as so far. The 90% of the population belong to the Christianity. There are 14 tribes can be seen in the state and some of them are as Lotha, Chang, Angami, Phom, Pochury, Rengam, Sangtam, Sumi, Ao, and  many more. These tribal communities and the clan Tradition plays very significant role in the life of Nagaland.

All these tribal community follow their own principal language and they are varies to each other. There is no script towards the traditional language. In 1967 the Nagaland assembly announced English as the official language and it also follows as the medium for education in schools and colleges. The local people of the Nagaland they also interact in the Nagamese, which is differ from the Assamese. Each tribal community has their own mother tongue but basically the most widely accepted language is Nagamese. The best thing at present regarding the state is that the Nagaland people are trying hard to learn the national language, Hindi.

The Economic Background of the stare is very well developed. The state follows the Macro economic trend and the total GDP (gross domestic product) for 2004 is projected at $1.4 billion. Agriculture is the most important occupation in Nagaland and most of the people of Nagaland depend on this economic activity for their survival purpose. Around 90% of the entire population engaged in a job like growing crops such as corn, rice, pulses, tobacco, sugarcane, and thread also.

The transport facility is quite rising. The Railway Network is minimal in Nagaland, but the government has launched many projects to build the good transport facility. The projects are like building the new Airport in Kohima, till now only one airport is there in Nagaland and it is in Dimapur.

There are many tourist places in Nagaland some of them such as: Kohima, Longleng, Dimapur, Tuensang, Mon, Shangnyu Village, Japfu Peak, Barra Basti, Wokha and Mokokchung.
