Panchgani : Panchgani is located in Maharashtra, India. This is beautiful place, which attracts 1000s of tourists every year. The main attraction of this place is the pleasant climate and the natural beauty.
Panchgani got its title from the 5 hills surrounding it. At a height of 1334 mts, it is 38 meters under the hill town of Mahabaleshwar. The drive from Mahabaleshwar gives few fascinating views, the winding paths promise an amazing view of the river Krishna on one side & coastal plains on the next side. Panchgani has the fast Raj stamp every where, from the planning of old British buildings
and Parsi homes to boarding schools which has been around for more than a century.

    The Kailasa Temple: The archaeological survey of India has further discovered temples which were devoted to Lord Shiva called the Kailash temple. It is the biggest monolith structure in the world. Though the entire caves are magnificent, the Kailasa temple is the most remarkable of all of them. The Kailasa temple is a great example of architectural work. It has four levels (100 feet high). It must be a work of great skill and hard work. Around 2 lac tons of solid rock had to be removed to carve out the temple. It has elaborate carved monolith and halls. There is also a sculpture depicting lord Vishnu killing a demon in form of a man-lion.

    Tourism: The Ellora caves are a famous tourist place and they attract tourists from world over. MTDC (The Maharashtra State Tourism Department) organizes a classical music and dance festival in the third week of March to attract tourists. Ellora caves are magnificent. Itís a tribute to great artistic skills of the artisans.

    How to Reach Panchgani:

    By Air: Pune is the nearest airport, which is connected to main Indian cities like Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai.

    By Rail: The nearest railhead is Wathar, which is situated around 62 km away from Panchgani. People always find Pune station to be a best and convenient option.

    Road: Panchgani is connected to Pune and Mumbai by a good network of roads.

    Best Time to Visit:

    Panchgani is characterized by pleasant weather all throughout the year. However, September to May is considered to be the best time to visit this wonderful hill station
