Karwa Chauth- the toughest still most awaited festival in India.
Karwa Chauth is basically celebrated mostly by women who are married. On the day of Karwa Chauth married women observe a fast for whole day, praying for the very long life, well being and success of their husband in every aspect of life. The married women break their fasts in the evening after the moonrise.
On this holy festival, most of the people gather at one place and socialize with the family and friends. They exchange lots of gifts and also they share number of home cooked meals. This festival also provides a
brilliant opportunity to the married women to get close to their in-laws and other family members. Karwa Chauth is the biggest festival which reflects joy and devotion together, happiness, brightness and splendor of the life which one gets after marriage.

The holy festival of the Karwa Chauth is only festival which symbolizes tireless or unconditional loyalty of a married lady towards her husband. This festival is celebrated twelve days before Diwali or you can say the festival of prosperity, brightness and lights. This festival of Karwa Chauth is celebrated on the fourth day of the waning moon in the month of Kartik of Hindu calendar which comes around October or November.
All the married women, young and old ladies, begin with their fast on the day of the Karwa Chauth before the sun
Karva Chauth Puja
rises that is around four in the morning and they take food and water only after spotting the moon in the sky which is in between eight and nine in the evening. The married women strictly follow all the guidelines which have been laid down for the fast and also they give up water and food for one whole day.

In spite of the fact that it is the toughest fast of all fasts still Karwa Chauth is the most awaited festival of the year. And also it is loved and welcomed by almost every married woman. And for newly married women the festival of Karwa Chauth is really very special.
