Chhattisgarh is the middle part of India and its capital is Raipur. Madhya Pradesh is the district of Chhattisgarh and this district is located in southeast. The Chhattisgarh shares its border with Andhra Pradesh, Maharastra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand. In Chhattisgarh mother tongue is Hindi. We know Hindi is an official language and it might be the state predominant language.
Here south and north sides are full of Hill areas. The middle part of Chhattisgarh is fertile plain and remaining 44% area is covered by forest. And wonderful season is from November to June. At that time we can see the places like evergreen forest, natural and wooden hills.

The craft of Chhattisgarh people is known as Kosa silk. Womens are interested to wear Salwar suits and Saris and the fabrics are also used to make stoles, lehenges and shawls. Shirts, sherwanis, jackets achkans are the traditional menswear fabrics.

The traditional dance of Chhattisgarh is Folk dance, mainly Yadavs are celebrating this dance and there Lord is Krishna. This dance is also called as Krishna's dance. Some of the traditional songs in Chhattisgarh are Folk songs such as bihav, pathoni and sohar songs. During Wedding ceremony they sing the Bihav songs. Some of the bihav songs are Telmati, Nahdouri, Bhadoni, Chulmati, Maymouri, Parghani and other Bhanvar related songs. For childrens birth day celebration they are singing Sohar songs. The Chhattisgarhi is a unique language and in hill people tribes this language is also known by two names such as Laris and Khaltahi. Around 93 languages are spoken all over state which includes three major languages in India except Dravidian, Indo European and Munda and Tibeto-Burman.
